These rich plankton and herring
filled waters attract an array of both sports fish and predators, and offers some of the
most diverse and exciting fishing and sight-seeing you will find anywhere.
While fishing for five varieties of salmon, world class halibut, a large variety of bottom
fish, and several species of trout, it would not be unlikely for you to see seals,
porpoise, whales and sea lions. On land the wildlife is just as plentiful with bald
eagles, black bear, mink, Sitka Black tail deer, as well as many other native
inhabitants. So don't forget your camera.
You will be provided a 16' aluminum boat and
40 horse outboard motor along with float cushions, a chart of the area and tide
tables. We will acquaint you with the area and the best fishing locations and then
you will be free to fish and explore on your own. We will supply halibut rods,
trolling rods and the type of lures or bait most successful in this area. Of course
you are welcome to bring your favorite gear and tackle and we do not supply any fly
fishing gear. When you bring your catch back to the resort we will fillet, cut,
wrap, and freeze your fish in family sized portions for your trip back home.

We also offer guided day trips in comfortable
28 foot cabin cruisers for an additional fee. These trips may be chartered on a spur
of the moment basis to take advantage of fishing and sight-seeing which are too far away
to reach by skiff.

Our scenery is spectacular, with snow capped
peaks rising from sea level to 9,000Feet. Day trips can include whale watching and
trips to LeConte Glacier to see it's ice bergs, seals, and other wildlife.
Your stay at Rocky Point Resort will be an experience you won't soon
forget, bringing you back year after year! |
